About the Parish Council

The parish council look after NINE  playing fields in the parish and two allotment sites(for Audley Parish residents only) as well as Bluebell Wood, Alsagers Bank, and the wildlife area off Hall Street, Audley.  They are the leaseholders of Halmerend bowling green and own Audley bowling club.  The two Bowling Clubs are run by Management Committees.

They take great interest in the public footpath network, which is mainly the responsibility of Staffordshire County Council as highway authority.  The Parish Council have limited powers in what they can do in footpath matters.  However, they always try to keep footpaths open.

The Parish Council are consulted by higher Authorities and other Councils on many subjects affecting the area, giving the views of local residents, and also give the local view on all  planning applications.  Final planning decisions are made by Newcastle Borough Council.

They make nominations to various bodies including School Governing bodies and the Audley Endowed Schools governing body.  They consider making grants to local voluntary groups and national worthwhile charities.  They are always available to local residents who wish to express their concerns about matters affecting the area.
